What makes a good life for most people is financial stability, food, shelter, luxuries, excitement, happiness, basically resources to do what they want.
QUALAM NI CHANGING BREEDS TV
If everybody identifies with the whole story rather than one character in it (just like a TV show's writers), then nobody takes it personally when one character suffers professionally, financially, emotionally for the benefit of the show as a whole. I know most people are used to having their own enjoyment of the game be tied directly to the successes of the characters they play, and so people "powergame" or whatever, but I'm taking a different approach. If one of the characters never fails at anything, never has interesting problems and obstacles, never grows and never seems human, viewers get bored of the character, the show as a whole suffers, and the boss (me) is going to get rid of this character, and the responsible writer will get a good talking-to. Think of everybody together as a group of writers for a TV show. More on "collaborative storytelling": I want you all to keep in mind that "collaborative storytelling" means you should be thinking of the game as a whole rather than the character you happen to be playing. As long as verisimilitude is preserved, the story makes sense, everybody has fun, it's all good. If you guys get together and decide you want to take a break from the current villain chasing after you, come up with a way to stall the guy, and I'll make it happen, give you a chance to chase your fortunes somewhere else temporarily. This is going to be more of a collaborative storytelling game, and I as the DM should have less control over the direction of the game than DMs generally do. I'm going to try to make sure nothing bones your character unless you want it to. I don't expect someone to be upset at a combat roll because it boned his character. I'm tired of quibbling over the rules because it matters: it shouldn't matter. I want this game to be more freeform than I'm used to playing. So I'm more interested in the roleplaying and the feel of the universe, again, the group of independent people working together thing. Although I'm used to really number-crunching, tactics-heavy D&D, I'm tired of that, and not interested in heavily investing myself in another complicated system in the months before 4E comes out. I'm still not sure how much of the mechanics of the Serenity RPG I'll keep, but I'm slowly making my own changes. Also, I hate unrealistic scifi with aliens, and ships shooting green lasers at each other, and hyperspace travel and teleportation, and all that. I love the fact that it's just a group of people on a mobile stronghold, working together, doing random stuff under the radar.

Systems may require upgraded and/or separately purchased hardware, drivers and/or software to take full advantage of Windows functionality.I just watched all the Firefly episodes and then Serenity, and thoroughly enjoyed the setting.
